Titus 3:4-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)
4 But when the goodness and kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared [in human form as the Man, Jesus Christ], 5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,
Just when we think that He has blessed our socks off, He surprises us with something even greater because that is how our father in heaven shows us his love and showers us with his favor.
I feel so privileged to have lived most of my life in the light of Gods favor.
It really is a blessing on all fronts to choose to believe – sooner rather than later – because we get to spend more time living in an embrace of love and hope and joy and favor.
God’s kindness knows no bounds. He is not a God of first chances only. He is a God of second and third and fourth and fifth and so on and so on goes his never ending grace.
It doesn’t matter if we mess up or if things get messed up around us. As long as we stay true to our relationship with Jesus and keep our eyes fixed on him, he will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Because He is a good God. He is a God of good gifts.
James 1:17-18 Amplified Bible (AMP)
17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow [a]cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].18 It was of His own will that He gave us birth [as His children] by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits of His creatures [a prime example of what He created to be set apart to Himself—sanctified, made holy for His divine purposes].
Kindness in action
‘As a little girl, I always loved and admired my friend’s family. They always seemed so happy. They had such a real love for the Lord. He was in everything that they said and everything that they did – but not at all in a preachy over the top way – in a real, down to earth, ’knowing’ his love kind of way.
I was actually rather envious. I wished that my family could be more like them. I wanted us to have what they had.
By no means did they have the perfect life. They always struggled financially. If fact they didn’t score high in the area of worldly possessions at all but they always lived with abundance …. abundance of family, friends, food and life… and they were always full of joy.
I would look at the mom and dad and wish that one day I would have a relationship like theirs – so loving and open and free to be.
But tragedy stuck this wonderful family when the father developed Parkinson’s disease. It was a long, hard, very painful road and after around 15 years, he went to be with his father in Heaven.
It is never easy to lose a loved one, even when you have had so many years to prepare yourself. The loss is a devastating blow and the beautiful memories live on forever, which makes it really hard to move on emotionally.
Years later, God moved his hand in another wonderful act of kindness. He brought a good, faithful man into the mom’s life. It was unexpected but most appreciated. It gave her and him a second chance at love – they were like school kids all over again. Their whirlwind romance landed them on the doorstep of the marriage counselor who told them that they are the most compatible couple ever counseled.
This wonderful woman of God not only lived through the worlds happiest first marriage but is now living in the worlds happiest second marriage. That is Gods Kindness. That is Gods goodness.
Both men are completely different but both showed her a different kind of life and a different kind of love. And her heart of love has shaped her to be the best wife, the best mother and the best display of God’s love in both marriages.
What an awesome God we serve.
