Beautiful In My Eyes

Lyrics by Joshua Kadison

You’re my peace of mind
In this crazy world
You’re everything I’ve tried to find
Your love is a pearl
You’re my Mona Lisa
You’re my rainbow skies
And my only prayer is that you realize…
You’ll always be beautiful in my eyes

The world will turn
And the seasons will change
And all the lessons we will learn
Will be beautiful and strange
We’ll have our fill of tears
Our share of sighs
My only prayer is that you realize…
You’ll always be beautiful in my eyes

You will always be
Beautiful in my eyes
And the passing years will show
That you will always grow
Ever more beautiful in my eyes

And there are lines upon my face
From a lifetime of smiles
When the time comes to embrace
For one long last while
We can laugh about
How time really flies
We won’t say good-bye
Cause’ true love never dies…
You’ll always be beautiful in my eyes

There is something in all of us that longs to be loved in such a way.  To capture the eyes and heart of our special someone forever.  But in our world today, love seems to be falling apart every which way we look.
Nothing seems permanent.
Nothing seems sincere.
Everything seems selfish, replaceable and lacking in emotional intimacy.
Are we doomed? Social media certainly does not seem to be helping! Couples are making up and breaking up on sms.  The cell phone is the number one choice for communication so intimacy has to be shown out the back door.
You can’t show much intimacy in a text message – and you cant read the mood of the ‘messager’.
You can’t see or feel the ‘realness’ of the person on a voice call.
True love is in the time spent with each other.  Uncluttered, uninterrupted time together.  If we get that right, we can still enjoy a beautiful love relationship – even in these crazy times.
But let us not forget about the ONE who is beyond time and space.  Who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.  He has a purpose and a plan for each of us, even in love, and he will move mountains to ensure that we end up with the one that he has set apart for us.
You may think, well that is rich coming from someone who has lived through two failed marriages, but that is the wonderful thing.  God is a God of second chances and third chances and so on and so on, and he will continue to guide us and direct us until we meet the one that he has carved out for us.
My next post is going to be a beautiful, true story of just that.  How Gods devotion overshadows our emotion.

‘Love isn’t about finding the perfect person.           It’s about realizing that an imperfect person can make your life perfect!’
