POST HEADER 2

It was a purposed coincidence that I found myself going to watch the movie ‘War Room’ with the ladies from my Friday morning bible study.

Work commitments had dramatically increased over the last few months which meant that I was very seldom able to make it to the Friday morning meetings.  When I saw their plans to go and watch a movie, I though ‘I could not possibly do that!’  My conscience would not allow me to sit in the coolness of a movie house, scoffing a bag of popcorn while my husband stressed away at work.

But that attitude did a sudden about turn when I was presented with an opportunity to grab a spare ticket and hubby gave me the big ‘thumbs up’.

Well, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the whole situation was completely God orchestrated and I was absolutely supposed to watch that movie.

It was a life changing experience!

An expose on the power of prayer.

A life lesson on how to approach a battle.

An insight on how to fight and win!

The War Room was surprisingly well acted, the storyline was dramatic while at the same time being light hearted and the wisdom was profound.  We all laughed and cried and cried and cried and eventually left the cinema feeling inspired and prepared for battle.

But I certainly was not expecting what lay ahead.  A battle of immense emotional proportion descended –  at a time when we were supposed to be enjoying the celebration of our daughters 4th birthday.

The battle ground was in disguise.

The enemy completely unsuspected.

Sitting alone in the aftermath, I just kept thinking that I cannot fight this alone.  I don’t have the weapons.  I need to pray.  I need God to intervene and give me wisdom.

If I had not watched that movie, I would have dealt with it in an entirely different manner probably with dire consequences.

But I had the quiet assurance that the battle is not mine but the Lords.

What I really needed to do was kneel down and pray so that the Lord could throw the proverbial ‘punches’ for me because he knows exactly what he is fighting.

These lyrics came to mind as we were praying for a strategy to overcome the ‘enemy’.   And it confirms again that our battle plan is to pray.  Pray for our enemy and pray for our loved ones.  Pray for God’s intervention and then we need to stand back and let God move.

Scott Underwood:   Stand Back

We will stand back and let You move
Stand back and let You move
Stand back and see what You will do

We will stand back and let You move
Stand back and let You move
Stand back and see what You will do

Peace be still
For we know that You are God
You have heard our prayers
And You know our need
Mountains will fall
And the oceans will roar
And we will worship You
For the battle is Yours
