Miracles are happening all around us.

Here is a beautiful story of a friend of my moms who travelled to Australia to visit her daughter and grandchildren who have been overseas for many many years. I’m going to call her Val to protect her identity.

One day, they had popped down the local coffee shop.  While Val waited for her daughter to come back with her coffee from the self service station, she was approached by a man, a complete stranger, who stood beside her and asked her this simple question.

“Why are you here?  What have you come here for?”

Val found this to be a very unusual question from a stranger, but in truth, she had come with a purpose. She wanted to ask her oldest grandson if he know the Lord.

Of course she didn’t have to tell this to a complete stranger, but she felt compelled that this was what he needed to hear.

“I came to ask my eldest grandson if he knows Jesus Christ as his Lord and saviour.” She said.  The man just stared at her.

Then he said, “Can you tell me about this Jesus Christ?”

So, right there in the coffee shop, she told the story of creation, of Jesus supernatural conception, of his time on earth and of his death and assension to heaven.

The man listened to every word. Riveted.  And when she was finished, he went down on his knees and and asked her please to pray for him.  He wanted to KNOW  this Jesus too.

What a wonderful opportunity.  What a miracle.  She did not go overseas with the intention of witnessing to any stranger.

God had stirred up this mans heart to the point that he rose from his chair, walked over to a complete stranger and asked her the strangest of questions.

And she was fully equipped to answer that question in the best was possible because the Lord had laid it on her heart to ask her grandson that exact question.

That is a ‘divine appointment’.  A meeting and a conversation that God planned and prepared in the heavenlies.

All God needed was two willing hearts.  A heart willing to ask the question and a heart willing to answer.  And that man, that elderly man found peace in his heart as he met his Lord and savior that day.

Val did end up asking her grandson that same question as well, at some stage during her stay, and his answer was just as she had hoped and prayed.  He truly does know the Lord.

But her mission had been so much bigger.

Because God always gives us so much more than we could ever ask for or imagine.  If we are faithful in the little things, He will surprise us with great things.

Matthew 25:23Amplified Bible (AMP)

23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master.’
