A time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.

You must all know the saying ‘All good things come to an end”.  But most times, the end of one thing simply means the start of another.   And this is all part of our journey of life.

In october 2014, we had our first worship meeting in our home. It was low key, unplugged and very informal.  It was never about the number of people who came because it was all about intimacy with God. God would bring whoever needed to be there. Each time we met, we were all incredibly blessed, whether it was through the meal, the sharing, the worship or the prophesying.  Sometimes God’s presence was tangible and sometimes it was not.

But it was always about God.

About us bringing our simple, messed up, joyful or mournful lives before our living God to say ‘Here we are. We love you.’

And we would all leave feeling ‘Loved by God.’

But as the years went by, our lives changed, our responsibilities as moms increased as well as our family commitments, and toward the end of last year I began feeling weary and despondent.  Each month, it was touch and go as to whether any of us could make it.  Many times it was postponed or cancelled.

I began to think that my season of hosting ‘Worship’ was coming to an end.  I felt both relieved and dejected at the thought.

Before I sent out a message to the group, suggesting we break for a season, God stepped in, in the most miraculous way.

I received a message from the pastor of the new Church I’ve been attending, asking if I would consider assisting with leading and hosting their mid-month worship evenings, which were to be called ‘Going Deeper.’

I did not say yes right away.  It just seemed too easy.  So I prayed about it and chatted to our group about it but all the responses came back as a big resounding YES!

This was the next step. I never ever saw it coming. It was not something I would have planned or even imagined. But God had prepared me for it.

He had closed one door, and opened another. In fact, He had been so kind that he opened the new door before the other was even closed.  His name and his Glory and His Plan was written all over it.

God certainly is the God of miracles.

Our first worship evening together was a wonderful blessing for all.

I am so excited to see what God will do in and through our lives as we come together with the unified objective of ‘Going Deeper.’
