Last time I wrote about how the chaos in the world so often gets us down and how we need to keep our eyes on Christ if we want to stay positive and full of hope.

Now, I would like to take it a little step further.  And hopefully with this little step, you will feel an excitement rise up in your belly as you realise your enormous potential.

This past Sunday, our church had their family service which meant that they included two kiddies worship songs in the worship set. The one was ‘This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine’.  As I listened, a thought suddenly struck me….

Yes, our world seems dark,

But…

The darker the world … the brighter our light will shine!

Isn’t that incredible.

Let’s not be put off by the darkness.

The world has survived far darker times than what we are living in now – times when people were brutal and barbaric and nations would go to war at the drop of a hat.

But,God has placed us on earth for here and now and He has purposed for us to be here, so that we can we can shine and shine and shine for Him.

No one can dim our light except for ourselves.  No-one can snuff out our light except with our approval.

And the more we trust in God, the brighter our light will shine.  The more time we spend with God, the brighter our light will shine and the more we fall in love with God, the brighter our light will shine..

We can ask God where He wants us to shine.

We can ask Him whose life we need to brighten with His light.

We can speak with boldness and courage when we know that God is the one shining through us.

We can truly make a difference in this world with Gods light shining through us.

Let us light up this darkened world as God’s luminosity, His life-giving light, shines through us.
