“You can ask for anything in My name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.  Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!”

God is so so good!

Last week we ran our first week our the Heartland Adventure Camp, which was a God-inspired dream and vision for me.  But more than that , it was and is a venture that encompasses every one of my passions and creative inspirations, so much so that I feel that I was created for this very thing!

But we are living in a broken world where not all dreams come true and I encountered many obstacles and dead-ends before getting to the point of running our first week of Adventure.

But the Lord never left me, even for a moment.

There were times when it felt as if there was just no use pressing on. Times when I felt that this idea was just not going to work in this world we live in, but every time I was faced with a road-block, God provided confirmation that I must continue.

When I was insistent on one thing, He went to all lengths to get me to consider something else.

Even when I sort of ‘reneged’ on my original promise, he walked with me and persevered with me until I saw the greed and selfishness of my ways laid my promise before Him again.

Never once did He give up on me.

And now I can stand testimony to the wonderful goodness of God.

Two weeks before I was to launch our Adventure, I had not even 5 kids a day.

But I was determined.  I would not give up.  But when I had my last minute meeting with the lady whose land we were going to use, she was less than enthralled by my numbers.  Is it really worth her while or worth the inconvenience?  But in her very next breath she was back behind me.  We have to start somewhere.  Let the children come!

The next hurdle was the Mentors.  I had prayed and asked that the Lord would bring the perfect Mentors, but just days before the program was to begin, my two committed helpers informed me that they could no longer assist.  On that same day, my go-to person also confirmed that she had a clash of commitment and she too could not help.  Still not giving up hope, I dialed my third number, and yes, she and her friend were in.  I met with them the next day.  God knows all things and he truly had brought me the two perfect mentors.

On the first day the Adventure program began, we had only 8 kids, including my own two. By day five, we were up to 16 kids in total – it had literally grown by 2 kids every day!

And every kid absolutely LOVED it.

And even though the week was incredibly exhausting, it was certainly the most fulfilling week of my life!

And God was in every moment of it.

Even right down to the weather.  We had a venue with no undercover shelter and yet we had a wind-less, rain-less perfect week in Cape Town. Almost unheard of for this time of year.

Our Father never ceases in His goodness.

I will never stop telling of His kindness.
