This message in this post came about when I felt the need to write a letter to a very special person in my life.

We had been praying for her for a long time and were trusting God for a breakthrough in her family finances.  Then, out of the blue, she was presented with an incredible career opportunity – one that would change her life and their families considerably.  Although financially, it would appear to be the perfect solution, the question is this “Is it really the best thing for her and her family.”

Mostly, success come with great sacrifice.

Prayerfully, I wrote to her;

“Not everything that comes to us is a gift from God. Sometimes, we may be presented with an opportunity that seems beyond perfect.  It may even come at a time when we really, really need it.  But is it really from God?

If we have been praying and truly trusting for God to intervene in our circumstances, for God to show us His will for our life and for God to make a God-way, then we need to be certain that we are stepping out in that will. In His purpose and plan for us.

The bible says that we are to ‘work out our salvation with fear and trembling.’  This means that we have to trust in what we believe and we need to walk that road without deviating from it. We need to trust that God knows us and loves us and he will lead us according to His purpose and plan.

His plan is different for each one of us because we are each on a completely different journey so we can’t expect our miracle or our breakthrough to look like anyone elses.

When we are trusting God to make a way and to open doors, we still need to check the doors  that open, by doing an internal check in our spirit.  If it is a door that we are to go through, the peace of God will go with us.

We also need to check what people pray and what they say.  People often try to talk to us and lead us out of their own broken and imperfect hearts.  Without it being intentional, they could be prompting us to make decisions which out of  their jealousy or insecurity or just their own need to offer a solution and see us right.

It is Gods voice that must me supreme in our lives. It is wonderful to have people pray and its wonderful to have people share, but we always need to check what they are saying with what God is saying into our heart.

Because remember, our life is our journey with God.  Our faith and our eternal potential is what is of utmost importance to Him.

Our decision and our choices need to be in line with what God has been saying to us and the direction in which he is leading us.  He places all these things within our hearts and He reveals them to us at the perfect time along our journey.

Sometimes, something can look perfect on the outside, but it is filled with cracks and hurts and hardships … and maybe even disaster.  But God already knows this.  What we see may be a road filled with abundance and success and all the other wonders that life can offer, but it pulls us far away from God.  It pulls us into self-sufficiency rather than God-sufficiency.  In this place, we may look as if we have everything – but we don’t have the peace of God and the joy that comes from living out His purpose.

So, we should not make our decisions based on what looks right from the outside. We must not just go with the flow.

We must pray and ask God to truly lead us in our decision.  We must ask others to pray for us and then trust that God will speak personally and directly into our hearts.  We need to trust that He will show us His purpose and plan for our lives.

The best way to do this … is to lay it down.  To say “God, if this is from you, then you give it back to me.”

It’s not about giving up on it.  It’s about saying that God’s will is more important than that thing.  And if it is part of His plan, he will give it right back. If it’s not, He will change your heart and show you what is right for you.

His message will be specific to you because He is a personal God and He wants you to grow in your faith and to experience His goodness first-hand!

He wants you to be abundantly blessed and to have an uncontainable joy that comes only from knowing Him and walking in a loving relationship with Him.”
