Can you honestly say that you are loving life?

Most times people are aiming for something bigger and better and the attitude is usually something like this…”I just need to get __________ and then I will be happy.”  You know what goes in the gap.

But I don’t want you to fill it in the gap.  I don’t want you to feel that only if and when you get this or that, will you be happy.

I know that life is tough. I know that life is filled with disappointments.  I have sure had my fair share of disappointments but in spite of them, we need to be happy in our life.

Maybe joyous is more the right word.  Joy is something that comes from deep within.  The bible tells us that our joy comes from the Lord.

Romans 15:13 Amplified Bible (AMP)

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.

I met with long time friend the other day and we were chatting about the pressures that we all live under these days and she was saying that mostly, these pressures are self-inflicted.  It’s because we want so much that we work so hard and sacrifice so many things in order to accumulate what we think is of great value.  But she said that when she was the only child available to sort through her late moms possessions and decide what to do with them, she realized how ridiculous we can be.  Acquiring, collecting, accumulating and for what?

We can’t take it with us when we leave this world!

People used to live in tents. They lived like nomads. And they were happy.  They didn’t have clutter to tie them down or hold them back.

Let’s choose to break free from the pressure of having to acquire, collect and accumulate.

Lets choose to go back to enjoying the simplest things in life.

No matter what the world tells us.

Let’s be rebels – with a cause!

Let’s find Joy in the ordinary.

Let’s see beauty in simplicity.

Let’s be simply joyous!

Joy does not simply come to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.

We do this by keeping our eyes not on the things of this world, but rather the one who created this world.
