A ‘revelation’ doesn’t have to be something that you have never heard before.

More often than not, God gives us a revelation about something that we already have a ‘knowledge about’ but the essence of it, the meaning of it as it applies to our lives, has not yet been made clear.

Only once we have reached a certain juncture in our journey of life, when we are ready to receive this new nugget of truth, is the truth revealed to us.

At that moment, it’s as if the heavens open up and the truth suddenly becomes clear to us.  Broad daylight is shone on the subject, which leaves us wondering how come we didn’t ‘get it’ before. But Gods timing is always perfect and He will only make something clear to us, when we need it to be clear to us.

A had a moment like this just the other day. I was reading in Ephesians about the Holy Spirit, and suddenly a very important truth become crystal clear to me.

‘Our faith is not just about knowing about God. It’s not even about believing in God and His son Jesus Christ. Our faith is about experiencing God’s Spirit moving in our hearts … moving in our lives.

It’s about us seeing the extraordinary workings of God in our everyday, ordinary lives. It is not just about having faith to believe … its about having faith to see Him moving.  It’s about noticing when He is moving. And about acknowledging His goodness and His intervention.

Without Gods Spirit in us, the flesh will keep throwing the logical explanation at us, because logic overrides wonder.

Logic tries to keep us grounded whereas God wants us to soar with Him.  Logic stops us from seeing and accepting that which is going on in the spiritual realm.

If our spiritual eyes are not open, how can we see?

About two months ago, I was invited to partner a work associate in a 4-day trail run.  Actually, the invitation was made for either my husband or myself so we decided that we would both begin training and the strongest one would participate in the event.

At that time, my back had flared-up and the physio said that I needed to take anti-inflammatories and rest for two weeks. This of course meant no training for me.

After that, I went straight into my running my Kids Holiday Program, which lasted another week, so I only began training 6 weeks before the event. By this stage my husband had handed the batten over to me, as his body was already taking strain from the training.  So now it was now, all up to me.

But God is good! My back recovered really well.  My training also went fairly well and before I knew it, there was only one week to go.  My one and only long run took place on the weekend before the event and afterwards, by back took incredible strain.

I thought to myself, how on earth am I going to do this? I rested. I took more anti-inflammatories  and I prayed!  I really prayed.  And the Spirit quietened my beating and frightened heart and the Lord said to me not to worry. He would give me the strength and endurance. I would actually enjoy the event.

And the Lord completely came through for me. I had absolutely not back pain. My partner wanted to take it really easy so there was absolutely no pressure to run outside of my comfort zone.

In fact, I can honestly say it was my best and easiest event ever. I ran, I walked, I talked and I prayed. I had a very special time in the great mountains of Ourdshoorn. I felt held by God and loved by God.

He always come through for us.  He moves mountains for us. He does miracles for us.  But we need to know his Spirit to see and acknowledge these things in our lives.

If you have not asked the Holy Spirit into your life, please pray or ask someone else to pray and God will honor your prayer and your life will never be the same again 🙂
