When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.
Psalm 34:4-5 (NLT)
I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)
No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

I don’t think that there is a single living soul that can say that they have never had a moment of regret. We have all made mistakes and we all get wiser as we get older so the choices that we make today will look nothing like the choices that we would have made as a child or young adult. Sometimes our choices can land us in huge amounts of trouble. But there is always forgiveness and there is always hope in the Lord. I can barely recognize myself now from the person that I was in school or even just 10 years ago. And I made a mountain of very foolish choices – from bad relationships to bad career choices to very unhealthy marriages – I am talking about really big stuff! But you know what, I don’t have any regret because where I am today is a result of where I was and who I was yesterday. And I would never change where I am today! I had to go through all that stuff, no matter how painful it was at that time, in order to mature and grow as a person and more importantly, in my faith relationship with the Lord. I will trust even more-so now that the Lord will guide me and prompt me to make the right choices but there will always be a degree of ‘me’ in those choices and sometimes the ‘me’ will be too strong and I will end up doing something that is not the best thing for me. I will still make bad choices – but God is all Love and all patience and he will never grow tired of picking me up, dusting me off, giving me a huge hug and encouraging me to keep on going. Life is so good when you have God on your side.
