I was brought up to believe that I need to create my own success. That with enough determination and drive, I can achieve anything. That I am the author of my own destiny.
That puts us under a lot of pressure! Especially if we were not created for success, or at least for what the world classifies as success.
It’s not that I don’t believe it anymore. Man can achieve almost anything with a determined and positive attitude. But, what I believe more, is that we will never find true joy and peace unless we are living our purpose. And purpose does not equal success.
We are individually created and specifically purposed. We need to be confident in where our heart is prompting us to go. That is because God lives in our hearts. He is our creator and he placed our purpose within our hearts.
In the Lords words …
Take a deep breath and find your peace in me. I will give you energy and inspiration. I will give you your voice. I know that you have always wanted to be on ‘stage’ but I have gently taken away your confidence and this desire so that when you do have your stage, you will not be doing it in your own strength and confidence but in my strength and my anointing. And my power will move because of who I am, not because of who you are.
That may sound harsh, but for me, it is utter truth. I always wanted to be on stage for my own edification and my own ego. I loved the limelight! Now, I shy away from it and if fact couldn’t thing of anything worse. I guess it’s from having been at home raising our little girls. – I have lost a lot of confidence and drive. That is what God was saying. It was gently taken from me and replaced with something of far greater worth and value. And when (and if) my time does come to stand up and make a difference, it will be through His power and might, rather than my own.
And he went on on to say …
You each have a different path to walk. Embrace your own journey. For you are an individual and I have a plan specifically for you. Your gifts and talents will equip you for your own journey. Do not be envious of other peoples lives but rather pray for them so that they may see more of My love and blessings.
Psalm 23: 5
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
In my words …
Everything that we have comes from the Lord. He provides for our needs. He gives us honor and He pours out endless blessings in our lives.
