Today, I am giving you a double wammy!!! Simply because I am struggling to get everything done before heading away for 10 days – so don’t be surprised by the quietness of this space.  But most astounding of all, is how God intertwines his story into every aspect of our lives.

The scripture that I have been working on for the Two minute devotional, is Hebrews 4 and it is all about the ‘Promised rest for God’s people’. Hebrews 4:10 says “For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.  So let us do our best to enter that rest.”

The inspirational that I had chosen to write about was “Holiday, family, rest, fun”

A perfect symphony of notions…

Holidays are an incredible break in the middle of all the work chaos. Sometimes, we rush into them, sometime we fall into them and sometimes we teeter around them, but there is not doubt that they always leave us changed, in one way or another.STORIES

Holidays are times for letting your hair down – completely down.  Run through the rain, splash in the mud, laugh like a child, laugh with your children, laugh with your friends Have fun fun fun! It doesn’t have to cost money. It shouldn’t cost money because the best things in life are free!  The best things bring true rest and restoration for the soul.

We are part of God’s family (His children!)  and wants us to live a good and perfect life! He created us, he is the master designer, so he know what is best … and that is rest!

God rested on the seventh day, not because he was tired, but because he had finished with creation.  The world was perfect and God was totally satisfied with it.

FamilyMost people work extra hard in that week before going away on holiday, tying up loose ends so that they can relax – we can all identify with this.  When we know that rest is coming, we put in the extra effort to get it finished, good and proper.

And then it is time to relax, good and proper.  Claim that ‘rest’ that is a promise from God.  Hebrew 4:9 says “So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God.”

So there we have it – have a special, special holiday and make the most of every moment! And don’t forget to rest.
