post-header-hope

When everything seems uncertain, there is one thing that we can always be certain in! And that is the love and presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is the one ‘consistency’ in our lives.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and yes, forever.

That is what it says in Hebrews 13:8

Everything in this world seems completely upside down at the moment.  We are led to believe that what is wrong is actually right and what is right is wrong.  The American population voted for their new president, a man that has a very questionable plan for the future of America, he has a very questionable past and only the Lord knows what is in his heart at this present moment.

In our very own country, our president has an extremely questionable past, with 783 criminal charges that he should face.  Today, his leadership lies in the balance and we don’t know what the future will hold.

As this year comes swiftly to a close, we look at a future that is incredibly uncertain, and it is very easy to get swept up in feelings of fear and insecurity.

But, there is HOPE because there is Christ.

We can always count on Jesus.

If we look again at that simple scripture, we can break it down into three parts.

(Jesus Christ) is the (same) (yesterday, today and forever)

Jesus Christ:  Jesus means Savior and Christ means anointed. Jesus is our anointed savior.

Same:  Jesus is unchanging.  He is consistency, personified.  He is love.  His love never changes. His love never fails.

Yesterday:  God has always been there to save his people, through his people.

He saved the world through Noah

He blessed the world through Abraham

He provided the law through Moses

He promised a messiah through David

He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that we could be forgiven and redeemed.

Today:  Jesus is with us today.

He is helping us.  Guiding us.

He is involved in our every day lives

Forever:   He is our hope for the future.

Matthew 20:20 says; “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

and Zephaniah 3:17 says  “The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

No matter what happens in this world, we need to always trust in God and pray for his intervention.

We need to trust that the people that are in power are put there for a reason and we need to trust that through it all, Gods perfect plan will prevail.

Don’t forget to join us this coming Saturday for a day of prayer and fasting, as we call on God to heal our land.  To bring revival to the hearts of the lost and to pour on us his rains of living water, literally and figuratively.  To saturate this dry land.

Pray on your own or with your family.  Pray in small groups or with your church.  Pray at the Angus Buchan ‘Sacred Assembly’

Just Pray

And God will do the rest.

PS: We will be praying between 3 and 4pm on Saturday afternoon. Let us all call out to our heavenly father in one voice at one time, wherever you are.
